Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common technical, process, and ordering questions about our hermetic solutions and advanced brazing services.
What services does Advanced Hermetic Solutions offer?
We specialize in ceramic-to-metal and sapphire-to-metal brazing, hermetic feedthroughs, custom connector assemblies, vacuum subassemblies, and cleanroom integration. Our solutions are built for high-reliability industries including aerospace, medical, defense, and semiconductor.
What materials can you braze or seal?
We work with materials like alumina ceramics, sapphire, Kovar, Alloy 42, titanium, stainless steel, and Inconel. Our brazing techniques are optimized for CTE compatibility, vacuum integrity, and metallurgical bonding.
What industries do you serve?
Our solutions are used in aerospace and defense systems, implantable and diagnostic medical devices, semiconductor capital equipment, photonics assemblies, and energy applications requiring high-temperature or vacuum-rated joints.
Do you offer prototyping and custom design support?
Yes, we provide full support for prototype builds and custom hermetic design. We assist with thermal compatibility analysis, DFM feedback, material selection, and iterative engineering to optimize reliability and performance.
What quality standards do you follow?
We follow ISO 9001 quality practices and are preparing for ITAR compliance. Our inspections include helium leak testing, visual/dimensional checks, full material traceability, and customer-specific process validations.
Do you perform helium leak testing?
Yes, we offer fine leak testing to MIL-STD-883 and MIL-STD-202 standards, capable of detecting leaks as low as 1x10⁻⁹ atm-cc/sec using helium mass spectrometry.
What is your typical lead time?
Standard projects are delivered within 4–6 weeks ARO. Complex or custom assemblies may require 6–10 weeks depending on design review and validation steps. Expedited services may be available upon request.
Can you support high-temperature or high-pressure applications?
Yes. Our assemblies are engineered for extreme environments, including sensor housings for >500°C operation, pressure-rated windows, and cryogenic-compatible packages.
Do you offer cleanroom assembly services?
We offer ISO Class 6 (Class 1000) cleanroom assembly for optical, vacuum, and sensor assemblies requiring particle-free packaging and ESD-safe handling.
